Our Statement of Faith
Eternal Security is committed to spreading biblical truths and equipping new believers with knowledge. Our statement of faith outlines the core beliefs that guide our community.
- The Bible in its original documents is the inspired Word of God, the written record of His supernatural revelation of Himself to man, absolute in it's authority, complete in it's revelation, final in it's content, and without error in it's statements. We believe the best translation for the english speaking world is the King James Version KJV. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalms 12:6-7; Matthew 24:35; Psalms 89:34; 1 Corinthians 14:27)
- There is one God, eternally existent, creator of the heavens and earth. He is manifested in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. (1 John 5:7; John 1:14; Isaiah 7:14)
- The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God who took on flesh and dwelt on earth. He was sinlessly perfect and gave Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice by shedding His sinless blood and dying on the cross, rising again to eternal life three days later. Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection pay for all sins (past, present, and future), and give eternal life to all who believe on Him as Saviour. (John 1:14; John 14:9-12; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; II Corinthians 5:21; 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 3:5; 1 John 5:7)
- We believe that sin is any thought, attitude, or action, which does not conform to the character and nature of God as revealed in the Scriptures. (I Peter 1:16; I John 3:4)
- We believe that the salvation of mankind required the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ including the literal shedding of His blood. (Rom.3:24-26; Heb. 9:22; 1 Peter 3:18) We believe that salvation is a free gift of God, apart from human works, received through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:12, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)
- We believe that all born again believers are eternally secure in Christ and shall never come into condemnation for sin. The security of the believer is based upon the eternal promises of God, the sufficiency of the atonement of Christ for sinners, the nature of the gift of everlasting life, the present and unending intercession and advocacy of Christ in heaven, the unchangeable promises of God, and the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit. (John 6:37-40, 10:27-29; Romans 8:1, 38-39; I Corinthians 1:4-8, 6:11 & 19; Ephesians 1:13-14; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:4-5; 1 John 2:12, 5:13) While it is the believer’s privilege to rejoice in their security in Christ, it should not lead to carelessness concerning sin. (Romans 6:1-14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-14)
- We believe in the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who will rapture believers prior to the seven year tribulation period. He will subsequently return to the earth at the end of the seven-year tribulation with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom. We believe that this blessed hope should have a vital influence on the personal life and service of the believer. (Acts 1:11; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I Thessalonians 1:10, 4:16-17; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; Revelation 19:11-16)
- We Reject: Replacement Theology, Dual Covenant Theology, Reprobate Doctrine, Dominion Theology, Calvinism, Annihilationism, Conditional Salvation, Lordship Salvation, Works-based Salvation, Open Theism, Amillennialism, Postmillennialism, Preterism, Universalism, Infant Baptism, Homosexual Marriage, and Abortion.
- SUMMARY OF GOD’S SALVATION PLAN A. All men are sinners. (Romans 3:10, 3:23; Isaiah 64:6; Jeremiah 17:9; James 2:10) B. The penalty of sin is death. (1 John 3:4; Romans 6:23; Ezekiel 18:20) C. Man must be perfect to enter heaven. (Revelation 21:27) D. Man can do nothing himself to obtain this perfection (Eph. 2:8,9; Gal. 2:16; Roman 4:5) E. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bear the sins of the world and imputes His righteousness to anyone that believes on Him as Saviour. (2 Corinthians 5:21; Philipians 3:9; Isaiah 53:6; 1 Peter 3:18) F. Man needs only belief in the gospel for salvation. (Ephesians 1:13-14, John 3:16; ; John 1:12; Acts 16:31) G. Man can be certain of his salvation now, and that his salvation cannot be lost because eternal life is eternal. (John 6:37-39, 10:28; 1 Peter 1:5; Hebrews 10:10-14; 1 John 5:13, Ephesians 4:30)
